The Mad Ferret Band is known on the Scottish music scene for its hard-hitting mix of traditional and contemporary folk music. The lively, energetic performances are packed with fast-paced mandolin solos, tight vocal harmonies, driving cajon beats and earth-moving guitar sounds. Since 2011, they have taken their lively Scottish folk music across the UK and Europe. They played alongside acts such as Dougie MacLean, Skerryvore, Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Mànran & Peatbog Faeries. The duo consists of Sandy Stirton on DADGAD guitar, cajon and vocals and Chris Woods on mandolin, acoustic guitar and vocals.
