A feminist feat of being a mother*
The story of a single mother* balancing between paid work and care work. An acid test full of empathy and irony.
I can’t tear myself apart …I have a child hanging from my leg …I would need four hands to do all this.
Fridoulina is a single mother* who has children, works for a wage and pursues her own goals. She is the ‚perfect mother*‘ for society and its glorified ideas. At first glance, her life seems dancelike and easy. She cares for her children lovingly and empathetically. She does her work well and enjoys it. She transforms challenges into artistic feats.
Instead of despairing over her inner turmoil, she grows with it and even surpasses herself. She develops supernatural powers to cope with the constant excessive demands. Fridoulina – A balancing act between care work and paid work, between exuberance and free fall, between irony and empathy, between accusation and an invitation to rethink care work.
