Gertrudis
As long as it hurts
Gertrudis is a humorous, non-verbal show that shows the journey of a woman trying to free herself from the emotional burdens of her past. With an intriguing mix of acrodance, physical theater, clowning, and hair hanging, the piece begins in a surprisingly humorous way – Gertrudis appears stern and controlled, but as the show progresses, she becomes consumed by her own chaos. Her need for structure is a shield from the deep wounds of her past. Step by step, in a whimsical way, she begins to let go of these burdens and free herself from the shackles of the past. The play invites the audience on a journey of transformation and to discover new paths to personal freedom – in a humorous and moving way.
