HANNA, a tousled washerwoman, stands disgusted in front of a giant pile of dirty laundry. She much prefers reading her book ‘Joan of Arc and Other Heroines’ and dreaming of great exploits. Lacking heroic enemies, she turns her laundry room into an absurd battlefield. Don Quixote sends his regards.
Gardi Hutter has been touring the world as ‘Jeanne d’ArPpo – the brave Hanna’ for 41 years. To date, the comic washerwoman has done her laundry in 35 countries (South & North America, Europe, Russia, China). The clown play is almost without words, and amazingly, people laugh in the same places in different countries.
